The headstart bag mitts are excellent for boxing training. The 1/2 shape cut is to allow the wrist to stay firm when in the glove, to avoid injury when punches go wrong. The mitts also have air pores to allow for air ventilation, which is essential for a more comfortable workout and also if you don't want your gloves to smell.
